AC Motor Manufacturer
Alternating current (AC) motors are the backbone of modern industrial and commercial systems. They convert electrical energy into mechanical motion with unmatched efficiency and reliability.
Synchronous and induction are the two primary categories of AC motors. A synchronous motor’s shaft rotates at a speed dictated by the frequency of the applied current. This is achieved by the multi-phase AC electromagnets in the stator, which generate a rotating magnetic field. Conversely, an asynchronous motor, called an induction motor, only operates when the stator is excited. The magnetic flux of the stator induces a current in the short-circuited coil of the rotor, which creates torque that causes the rotor to turn.
As a leading manufacturer specialising in electric motors, ZHENLI MOTOR utilises cutting-edge engineering and decades of expertise to provide AC motors that meet the evolving needs of industries worldwide. We work with our customers to offer customized motors for specific applications, including:
- Explosion-proof (ATEX, UL) designs for the oil/gas industry.
- Regenerative braking integration for electric vehicles.
- After Sales Service: We offer global technical support, predictive maintenance tools, and extended warranties.
An AC motor has a straightforward design. A copper-wound stator produces its revolving magnetic field. The design of AC induction motors meets the IE3 and IE4 international motor efficiency standards.

AC motor working principle
AC motors operate on the principles of electromagnetic induction, where a rotating magnetic field generated by the stator interacts with the rotor to produce torque. Key components include:
- Stator: Composed of laminated steel cores and three-phase windings, it creates a rotating magnetic field when energized.
- Rotor: An AC motor’s rotor is not connected to an external power source like a DC motor. The stator is the source of its power.
- Induction Motors: Utilize squirrel-cage or wound rotors, where induced currents generate torque.
- Synchronous Motors: Rotors align with the stator’s magnetic field, operating at synchronous speed (no slip).
- Bearings & Enclosures: Precision-engineered to reduce friction, withstand environmental stressors, and extend operational life.
Technical specifications and performance indicators
ZHENLI MOTOR’s AC motors comply with global standards (IEC, NEMA) and are optimised in terms of:

- Insulation and duty cycle: The product features Class F (155°C) or Class H (180°C) insulation with high thermal stability, designed for S1 (continuous duty) to S8 (intermittent duty cycle).

Industrial Applications
AC motors are a type of electric motor. AC motors are efficient, versatile, and reliable power sources for various applications, from household appliances to industrial machinery.
- Manufacturing: Conveyor systems, CNC machines.
- Energy: HVAC compressors, centrifugal fans.
- Transportation: Traction systems, EV drivetrains.
- Renewables: Wind turbine pitch control, solar tracking systems.
Types of AC motors
Asynchronous motor/ Induction Motors
- Three-phase:
Equivalent voltages with the same phase difference between neighbouring electromagnetic fields (EMF) and the same frequency form a multi-phase system.
Three-phase motors have high starting torque and are durable, making them ideal for industrial machinery (pumps, compressors).
- Single Phase:
Single-phase AC motors are designed for use on single-phase power supplies. They are usually small, cost-effective, and capable of only a few kilowatts of power. Single-phase AC power supplies are fed by a primary winding and an auxiliary winding connected in parallel with the primary winding.
Single-phase motors are commonly used for household appliances (fans, washing machines) that do not have a three-phase power supply.
Synchronous Motors
Permanent Magnet Motors (PMSM): Highly efficient motors for robots and electric vehicles.
Reluctance motors: Cost-effective solution for applications requiring precise speed control.

Frequestly Asked Question
AC motors can last 15-20 years or more with proper maintenance. The only major wear parts are the bearings, which may need to be lubricated or replaced occasionally.
AC motors are mainly classified into synchronous motors (which operate at a constant speed) and induction motors (which operate at a speed slightly lower than synchronous speed). Induction motors are further divided into single-phase and three-phase types.
A squirrel cage rotor is a common type of rotor in induction motors. It consists of copper or aluminum bars with end rings. It operates without external connections and is known for its simplicity and durability.
AC motors are efficient, durable, and low maintenance. They operate quietly, have a high torque-to-speed ratio, and offer variable speed control, making them ideal for industrial and residential applications.
